I have got them switched. They are olive eggers. That's the best I can tell you. Lol The rooster is a black copper marans. It sure would be nice to start getting eggs. Lol

Hi Valerie,
It depends on the breed and the birds. I received day-old chicks on May 3rd so, about the same time that you did, and mine are just starting to lay now. The roosters do mount them, and they do not take long up there. lol The hens may also start showing more interest in the nesting boxes. If you haven't switched them from Grow Mash/Crumble to Lay Mash/Crumble/Pellets it's a good time to do it as they will need the extra calcium. Due to the fading light some hens may not lay until the spring.
