Alright, alright! I am here at long last! My dear dear friend Gina Hall has been trying to get me over here for the longest time and I've been resisting since I know I'll probably spend my LIFE on this list! Oh my...
OK, I'm Deb Buckler. I'm from Atascadero, California (Central coast area) and I am owned by a VERY special roo, "Alex". I already created a HUGE album of his pictures, so do go check it out. "All about Alex". Alex is a Modern Game Bantam that we raised from an egg. We have several Modern Game chickens and two hens were sitting on a giant clutch of eggs. they stayed there forever then gave up and left the eggs cold. We didn't know what to do so we tossed them out in the field. All the eggs were dead, but suddenly my daughter heard 'peeping'! OMG we ran back out there and found the one little egg ad pipped, so we brought it back in the house. I know this is the WORST thing to do but Melissa spent the rest of the day carefully pealing the egg shell off the chick. Somehow she kept the little chick alive and the next thing we knew, he was eating oatmeal and baby bird food mix that you give baby parrots. Well, that was 9 months ago, and now "Alex" is here to tell the rest of his story.
This little rooster is the 'light of my life'. He is totally a 'house chicken', only going outside to the atrium during the daytime, and only in good weather. he has the run of the kitchen/dining area and sometimes the living room...just no place where there's carpet....hee! He goes absolutely everywhere with us too.
I'll keep you all posted on his latest adventures and many thanks to Gina for getting me over here!
Friends, Deb
