Re: [CHICKENS-101] I lost my first chick!

Get a "have-a-heart" trap; bait it with smelly cat food; then bring the cat to a shelter so they can evaluate it for adoption, or...

Subject: [CHICKENS-101] I lost my first chick!

One of my red splash sexlink pullets came up missing yesterday. I think it might have been a roaming cat I've seen hanging in the distance. I have yet to find any evidence of  a murder but she did not come to roost last night. My other sexlink was there and they are normally stuck together like glue. Any advice on what to do with feral cats? I'd shoot it but it is never that still long enough. I just get glimpses of it. Has anyone had success trapping them? My chickens free range during the day and I like it that way. I didn't think I would be this sad over losing one of my girls but I am lol!

Thanks,
Em
