Cackle Hatchery buys from outside sources. I didn't know hatcheries did that! On one of the lists I'm on, a member posted she wouldn't have X breed available because all her eggs are committed to Cackle Hatchery.

I think I'd be upset and raise a bit of a ruckus. In a message dated 3/1/2010 7:14:25 A.M. Central Standard Time, allegrez@yahoo.com writes: I'm sorry venting a bit here.. I ordered chicks from cackle hatchery..the beginning of Feb. I received a notice about 2 weeks later that I would be getting an email when I would be receiving my chicks. Finally got it.. and they won't even ship until the middle of April.. ugh!!!! Well I talked with them because had I known I would have ordered Turkeys with them.. to save on shipping.. (their turkeys don't ship until april). they won't add to an order.. and oh by the way they charge 10% for any cancellations. . On their website only on their mail order page.. down at the bottom does it say that there will be a 10% charge for cancellations. Now do you think this is good practice.. or am I just being impatient and unreasonable. I;m really upset.. because now I can't get any birds until the middle of April..
