Last summer we built a "tractor" and used a dog creat for the coop. My SO drilled holes in the sides and we put dowels through it for them to roast on. We knew they couldn't winter in that, so set about to build a coop. The "tractor" became their run for winter.
We thought about ordering, but we have the slowest PO in the world, and just don't trust them getting the chicks to us. UPS won't deliver up here (our house) until after all the snow is gone, so driving the 60 miles was the best option. Besides we need to go to the "big city" everynow and then
Yes you can watch the chicks grow!!

> Enjoy your new little babies, Rita. They grow so fast you can almost see it happening! We have a feed store 4 miles from my house but I don't know if they sell chicks. I'm going there later today. There is also a big chicken seller about 10 miles away, and I've bought chickens from him. Right now I'm avoiding local sales as I have chicks ordered from Ideal for April delivery. I'm going out of town next week and don't want to make life difficult for my DH who will have total 'chicken duty' for 5 days.

Bought it for our new adopted dog but after a couple of days we just close her in the computer room at night and when we both are gone from the house. Not letting my investment go to waste though, so the dog kennel will be home for a group of chickens.
