This year we put bright orange coats on our cria and one skinny dam. I also bought my mare an orange coat. I make my dh wear his orange vest when he goes out and his orange hat and even my daughter knows to put hers on if she takes the 6-wheeler out. I bought orange fleece to tie around their necks in the winter and the Pyrs wear orange collars and our little house dog has an orange coat, made like a horse coat.
Thank goodness they aren’t embarrassed easily because everyone is wearing the same color! I have to admit, they are easy to spot in the snow!!

Yes, I understood the underlying reason for putting bright coats on dogs that are outside where people hunt. But EVERY dog deserves a coat. Or two or ten. People hunt deer here in the city, even though they are not supposed too. I posted the property, but it's ignored unless I catch them. I take their pic with my cell phone and use it to prove they were trespassing! Up north, there's spring and fall turkey and fall/winter deer hunting seasons. Even though my blinds were posted along with my property, the property owners next to me stole my blinds off my land, and cut trails through my woods. I'll be taking the DNR thru my property and showing them this spring. I am ticked. My dogs need coats. Cathryn |
