[CHICKENS-101] Moving a Nesting Turkey

 

I have a turkey that is sitting on some eggs in a nest about two feet off the ground. The ledge of the box is only about two inches tall, then add the nesting hay. The eggs are due to start hatching on a day that my hubby has decided we are going to take a 3-day trip. I have someone coming over to take care of the flock, but they won't be here 24/7 like I would be. So, I thought about moving Mama, clutch, and nesting hay to a large cage. If I do this, will the hen lay back down on the nest? I am afraid that if I don't move them the chicks will fall out of the nest before someone can move them to the nursery I have set up.
