Well you outta know, Cathryn! You breed some beautiful birds yourself! Ben and Jerry may or may not be "show quality". I don't show, and I will never show my Modern Games as long as dubbing is a requirement. What a senseless and antiquated and barbaric thing to do to a proud rooster. Our # 1 concern is GENTLE, sane dispositions first. Beauty is always welcome too of course!
Last year, I got a wild hair and decided I wanted to create a new breed of chicken. So I got a Red Shouldered Yokahama hen and crossed her with one of my orange Modern Roosters. The resulting chicks were really cool. Here's a shot of "Pi", the rooster. He's a sweet guy and gentle like his parents, but he's way too big for my Banties. And I can't have him breeding his sisters! I'll get some shots of them soon. So I'm looking to place him as well. He's a good, non aggressive guy and certainly a 'fine specimen', but due to things beyond my control right now, I have to let my dream of breeding chickens go for a while.
Anyway, here's some shots of Pi and his mom and dad.

[Attachment(s) from Deb and Randy Buckler included below]HA! Anyone recognize today's Workday Chicken picture? It's the infamous Ben and Jerry! I sent that picture in a long time ago and I was surprised to see it this morning. I'm attaching a couple other pictures of these silly boys on here too...I hope you all can see them. They've grown up a bit since these pictures were taken. Actually, I was just going to write to the groups and say I really need to place these two kids. I love them so much and I'm having so much fun taking pictures of them...they are so tame, I can 'pose' them in all sorts of situations and they'll hold that pose just long enough for someone to snap a picture. They get handled ALOT. But what's happening is I have these guys in their original village where they were born, and as little chicks, there was no problem. Now they are growing up and there's only 6 hens and 2 old roosters...along with Ben and Jerry! So it's just too much rooster energy for my old hens. I need to re-home these kids and I'd even consider shipping to the right home....I've never shipped a live animal, so I'd need guidance on that. I just hate trying to 'sell' them on Craig's list....so many Mexicans want them for eating or for fight chicken bait.......nothing against "Mexicans", of course...we just live in an area where there's alot Mexicans who DO gather up all the roosters from Craig's list on a regular basis and I am sure they don't become family pets. Ben and Jerry are off the charts gorgeous Modern Game Bantams and I'll be taking some more "Fall pictures" of them soon. I just really need to get them into good homes.Deb Buckler, in California----- Original Message -----From: Workday Chicken PicsSent: Thursday, October 02, 2014 6:59 AMSubject: workday chicken pic
