Re: [CHICKENS-101] Docile breed

Personal experience I would say either Black Star or Turkens.
My first hens were Black Stars. Bought in March, by winter I had more eggs than what I knew what to do with. I still have one left, she's going on 5 and is a great broody, even tho the catalogs say they aren't. Mine were out in the snow and unless they got in a drift and I had to rescue them, they did fine.
Turkens are also good in colder weather despite their naked necks. My best rooster, who I recently lost was a Turken.
Both breeds lay brown eggs.

Subject: [CHICKENS-101] Docile breed

What is the most docile breed of chicken that is still a good layer, and can handle the cold? I live in Wisconsin.
Based on past experience - I'm not sure I believe everything the hatchery catalog says!
Thanks,
