Gary, Of course, it's Maurphy';s Law. I am so sorry and hope the cider helped. I've read that vitamin A helps chicks resist cocci, but don't know if poultry vitamins will help them until you can get a cocci med.

Hi Cathryn,
I know how deadly cocci is and I normally treat it with Sulmet, youre recommendation the first time I had trouble. The problem was that I didn't discover them being sick until I was heading out for work and I was all out of sulmet. I wasn't going to be home until after 5pm so I gave them the apple cider vinegar anyway knowing I would treat with Sulmet as soon as I could. I have treated them all with Sulmet. Only a handful of them look sick, but the Coop floor looked liked a slaughter house this morning when I looked in. It had several larger red bloody spots.
Of course my favorites are the ones that are sick.

Get a cocci med asap so you don't loose them. ACV will not kill the protozoa that causes cocci. Albon, Dimethox, Corrid, there are several other meds you can use too.
