Re: [CHICKENS-101] Hawk attack, grrr! String across a run

We finally sent our possum to possum heaven last week after losing 3 ducks and a few chickens from secure pens.  I am afraid there are little ones around.  Has anyone ever put a flea bomb in an enclosed area to scare away critters/animals?  I have a small storage shed that I think they are hiding in.  The chickens/ducks can't get to the area or inside the shed and I was thinking about setting off a couple of bombs in there.  I hate to kill anything, but if they are a threat to my chickens they gotta go.  Our Aussie was even outside.  We have had traps out for weeks and can't catch anything but cats!  A friend told me to try vanilla wafers, so I will do that tonight.  Any other tips?

I am getting 6 Cayuga babies on Wednesday.  When they are ready to go outside they will be up close to the house in a very secure pen/cage!    Susan

Dawn, It was probably hiding watching you.  :>   I caught a huge boar opossum in a live trap last night, finally.  My white rocks have woke me every night for a week.  It's been emptying live traps; between it and the cat keeping the traps baited has been a full time job. It may have gotten into the rat and mouse bait before it made it to the live trap.  I put stuff out under the barn and the mice, 'coons, opossums don't get too far after eating it.   Maybe, just maybe, the white rocks won't call me out of bed to their pen tonight.
