Re: [CHICKENS-101] Re: What should I buy?

This is from the CFC website and after reading will buy no where else:

"The mainstay of CFC Farm & Home Center is our feed business. All CFC feeds, including our Pace-Maker Horse Feed, are manufactured at our feed mill in Culpeper, VA. The mill runs five days a week and fresh feed is delivered to our customers and our retail stores in both bagged and bulk forms.

Besides being able to feed your animal a freshly made diet, CFC offers the advantage of addressing the specific concerns of the region.  Soils and forages vary throughout the country and these differences need to be compensated for in the feed formula. For example, our region is known to be deficient in selenium and low in copper and zinc, and this is taken into account in our feed formulations. Having the correct mineral balance in your feed will help maximize your animal's potential."

You said it Debbie- we too buy our feed from a local feed mill that has been in business for about 75 years.  They sell only livestock feed.  My son swears saw a difference in our hens within a week of changing to the locally milled feed.
