Gina, Your feet are on the ground, thus the shock. The sparrow hawk was only on the wire.
I am very careful around electric wires, et... I do not need my heart shocked! I have no idea why your friend can't feel the shock, but it would have to have something to do with nerve endings and related. Cathryn

I don't think electricity works on chickens. Mine stand right on it if they fly up to the top of the fence. I had a sparrow hawk the other day standing on the fence right on the electric wire too and it doesn't phase them. Sure does me though.
I have a friend that can grab an electric wire and never feel it. Very strange.................
