Re: [CHICKENS-101] PeeWees - my pheasant chicklets

Heather, We went out and went over the pen again.  Nothing but a couple of feathers in the pen. This time I made myself pick up the piece of the jumbo pheasant wing that was laying in front of the gate, outside of the pen.  It is a fragment of the wing tip, the bone was broken, cracked.
No, no more pheasants.  I spent months and months playing with my PeeWees and changing indoor tubs so they would stay as sweet as they were when John brought then to me.  I do not know of an animal that would get into a pen and take the pheasants, but not get into the silkie pen.
One of the silkie outdoor pens is right next to the pheasant outdoor pen, but the gate between the two pens is fenced over.  I have to go around to the other gate, unlock it, to go in.  There is a large gap for a wild animal to go thru between the fence post and the barn where the inner gate is fenced over, about half way up and to the top.  My silkies window to their outdoor pen is never shut.  It will be tonight and from now on. I will double check all pens and door myself each night to make sure they are locked and pad locked. I just can't believe they are gone. Cathryn

im sorry to hear that. i hope you can get some more hatched for you.
