Spangles", a gorgeous Birchen. Prince Nuada was the older roo and the king of the roost. He kept all the young roosters in line and was fair with everyone. Then one day both Prince Nuada and Lemon Roo decided they needed to kill Spangles. They beat the STUFFING out of him and probably would have killed him had I not discovered them and immediately got Spangles to a safe pen by himself. He was a sweetie pie and never aggressive. All was fine with Lemon Roo and Prince Nuada for a long time. Then, one day, the two boys got into a serious fight and Lemon Roo almost killed Prince Nuada! It was so terrible. Prince Nuada was the king of the roost and I could not bare to see him de-throned. So I found homes for all three roosters . They were all related to my hens, so I figure I'll just pick up a new unrelated rooster at some point. NOW I have two Old English Game roosters who are managing the flock....so far one rooster has established dominance and the other runs for his life. If they take to fighting, I'll probably place them both. I don't want to risk one seriously harming the other.

Gina,
Feel free to put them in a nice, secure shipping box and send them my way! They are adorable! My first thought was "Ike and Tina" LOL!
My understanding is they are pretty friendly with people .not aggressive, but roosters vs roosters are very aggressive? I would love to have some but I don't want my chicken yard sounding and looking like a fighting pit. As much as I love the idea of a house chicken, it just won't fly. (pun) Between the Scotty mix and the Great Dane, we can't have a chicken walking around the house.

Hi all,
My little moderns are one week old today. They are the most different chicks I have ever had. They are very friendly and want company all the time and if you leave the room they yell so loud you can hear them outside!! The are so leggy that I just have to laugh at them every day. How sweet and cute they are. I have my fingers crossed that Slick is a male and Kiwi a female. They are also exceptionally active and don't sleep much like other chicks do.
Gina :-)
Slick at one week
Kiwi at one week.
