Moving and new food are stresses. I'd guess a mycoplasma and treat her accordingly. I'd also treat for cocci so she does not bring in a new stain of coccidiosis to your chickens. Sulfadimethoxine is a good one for the cocci. After 5 days of sulfadimethoxine I'd treat her for mycoplasma for a good 10 days. Or I'd treat for mycoplasma then cocci, which ever works out best. I'd not let her near my other chickens for at least a month. Cath

Bought a healthy looking 5 month old RIR hen last Saturday. After bringing her home and leaving her in a large cage in the garage she started coughing. She was eating pellets but I feed a natural grain type feed. She has a bright comb, eats and drinks and walks around but still coughs. Kind of a dry cough. Any ideas what it could be or what I can try to get rid of it? Thanks.
