Re: [CHICKENS-101] Bird Flu In Chickens

Di, Seminole County has sentinel chickens, maybe it was about that??  Low path avian influenza has been in the USA for at least the last 10 years plus.  AI is in the wild bird population.  In one of the classes I took we were told that researchers felt that high pathogenic AI won't be a problem in the US because exposure to the low path will provide birds immunity to the high path.  I have no idea if this really holds true or not, but it is what we were told. I was half asleep last night (or maybe it was the night before that), dozing through the 11 PM news, and heard something about 4 chickens in Seminole County testing positive for bird flu. Now I can't find out anything about it via the TV news stations' web sites or Google.
