I read somewhere that American chocolate has so little actual chocolate in it that it is not "as" lethal as, say, European chocolate. I've known a couple ACD's (not mine!) that consumed copious amounts of chocolate and never even hiccuped. One of them ate about a pound of chocolate covered espresso beans! Never fazed her....those heelers have castiron stomachs, I think. lol

Cabbage and brussel sprouts can produce excess amounts of gas.  Maybe the gas is the culprit?  My dogs have each snuck chocolate, but chocolate is very toxic for dogs.  Just because they didn't have a reaction doesn't mean it was ok for them………maybe just lucky?

i read thaT cabbage was toxic to bunnies but feed it to them . Usually there isnt any left over though. If it dosnt posin people why should it hurt an animal
