You know, I believe you... I think that list of plants toxic to chickens was not reliable.  It reminds me of all the lists online about things that are toxic to dogs; most of them list avocados, even though there is a dog food made with avocados, and I know many people who have avocado trees whose dogs eat tons of them, and thrive.

I can tell you that chickens ARE NOT harmed by eating cabbage, they love it and thrive on it. I had to eat my cabbage by proxy last summer.
