The below is an e-mail I received from my Tech. Dept.  Hope this helps save someone's computer. Cath, who is at school hard at work.  J

If you should receive an eCard from Hallmark.com delete it immediately.  DO NOT OPEN IT. If your preview pane is on turn it off before selecting the email to delete. Instructions for that are below.  Once you have deleted it empty your deleted items by right clicking on "Deleted Items" and choosing "Empty Deleted Items" from the list.

To turn off the preview pane:

  • select the View menu from the menu bar
  • choose "Reading Pane"
  • choose OFF

This should be turned off in deleted items AFTER you have emptied your deleted items for future protection.  It is recommended, but not required that the preview pane be OFF in your inbox as well.

We have had a rash of these Hallmark viruses in the past 24 hours.

Thank you for your diligence!
