I was going to say the same thing Pete. I raised Nigerians for a short time and was looking to get the polled gene in my herd because I couldn't stand the thought of disbudding. I sold out of goats, now the only goat I have is a 4H project.

OK lets set the record straight .... hermaphrodites are a very rare occurrence .... secondly it only occurs when a doe ( female ) is bred to a buck ( male ) and BOTH have the polled gene.  Polled is recessive genetic trait .... even when this occurs ( recessive to recessive ) odds are still low.  I have had and bred goats of many breeds for longer then I care to think about and have never had even one happen.... this covers 100's of births with many polled to polled breeding. I have owned and bred every thing from Pygmy to Alpine.... Nigerians to Nubian and most in between.  This is not breed specific ......
