Laura... yes that would be large for a Pygmy .... also their horns are shorter and thicker. Even if wethered they can act bucky especially around a doe in heat.

So, what’s wrong with him being polled. I only wish mine had been born polled. Instead, I have a “Pygmy” goat that weighs at least 70 pounds and has horns that are going on two feet long………he is obviously not a pure “Pygmy”. After we bought them and brought them home – at the age of 8 weeks, the breeder tells me she had a Fainting Billy in there, too……..so, I think our Bashful isn’t tiny for a reason! Our other three are smaller than him and their horns are smaller, too. ALL were castrated young, so I don’t know why Bash is such a Billy acting goat. I am over goats. We end up with bruises every time we do medicals with him. He doesn’t intentionally horn us, but we always end up getting hit with those horns at some point. (punny, huh)
If I EVER have anymore goats, NO HORNS. I wouldn’t mind an
Angora to add to my fiber pool……..but no horns!
