I was laid up years back, for six months, my 15yr old took care of EVERYBODY! She wasn't as eager to get up as the boys (dogs)...
I have yet to break them of the habit, so they have a kennel area in the garage with a good thick bed of shavings...
If you can't be trained, you don't come in unsupervised!
Now, they each have thier own box, their own food, thier own fresh water at all times... works ok, except when one catches a mouse!
Oh, and follow up on the kitty. I finally caught "her", nailed the food down, tucked the trap under the garage door, so it looked "safe"...
Turns out she's not a hugely pregnant "she", but an immense Maine Coon Tom....
The feral people took him, gave him shots, a "shave 'n a haircut" and returned him. How not, the grands had named "her" Trixie cause she was so hard to trick into the trap...
No he resides in the space under my bed, uses the box neatly, eats messily, everyone has been sniffed and hissed at, oh and a new name "Mad Max" for his attitude...

"sarassa1" <sarassa1@..
> You must have good dogs! That would work with my lab (she is a good dog), but the yorkie and dachshund look for excuses to use my carpet instead of the outdoors.
