[CHICKENS-101] Quite a morning!!

I went out today to set up another crate so I can move more chicks out of the house and into my covered sheltered area and had moved one crate up to the work bench where I have the crate with the silkie and her eggs plus two chicks. I decided to check to see if any more eggs had hatched and picked her up and one chick fell out and the other was  "attached" to the hen by its foot! It had gotten tangled up in her fluff and couldn't get free. I had to cut the feathers out while being attacked and yelled at by the hen and release a couple of strands that were like string around the little tykes foot. About the time I set them back down I smelled this awful smell and looked over at the other crate that had a heat lamp and two of my cockoo marans hens were in it investigating. One had her tail pushed up against the heat lamp and it was burning! It was about one second to flaring up in flames. Good grief, she hadn't a clue. What a stink!!! So now she is running around with half of her tail burned off.
Also.............yesterday one of the hens that disappeared about three months ago turned up again! The first time I found her she was neatly buried near the chicken coop which was a mystery and yesterday she was in my back yard badly decomposed but there she was again. I had thrown her over into the bramble patch which no animal can get in and there she was two months later in my back yard!!!! Quite the mystery. I guess she just doesn't want to leave.
