[CHICKENS-101] New to chickens

 

Hi everyone.
I just wanted to pop on and leave a note introducing myself. I'm new to the group and new to chickens. I'm not new to raising barnyard animals however. In the past we've raised Romney sheep, Nubian goats, angora rabbits. Due to my husbands job we had to move from our property and are now living in a small "city" that did not allow backyard chicken until Feb 19th of this year. I'm thrilled :-) to be able to have some hens. With the lot size that we sit on we are allowed up to 8 hens although I don't envision our needing 8 laying ladies. On Thursday I went to a couple local feed stores and picked up some chicks and yesterday I aquired a couple laying hens. Since 10pm yesterdy (that's the last time I laid eyes on the birds until this morning) I have been gifted with 2 eggs. :-)

Thanks for having me in the group. I'm certain I'll have many questions as things roll along.
