sad fact of life but this is across the pond too. Take a healthy mix of toxic diet, alcohol, lack of input and guidance, violent video games and tv shows and you have a whole generation trashed.
All 3 of mine are aspies I know now, and I was a food fascist - organic, during pregs, and breastfeeding, etc but some of the kids around here are ADHD/ADD and the mothers drank or took drugs through the pregnancy. And they scratch their heads by the school gates, wondering why the kid turned out that way. before handing them a packed lunch with a can of red bull and a mars bar and nowt else in it.
Our TV is rarely plugged in, let alone switched on. The rubbish it spouts earned it the name 'idiot box' in our house.
Research shows a link between diet and behaviour, and exposure to media and behaviour. Young offenders did better after a 6 month diet plan of just 'food', lol. It aint rocket science.
Our school dinners are awful quality. They used to taste rough but were scratch ingredients. Now they are processed junk. Mine take a packed lunch, and tell me some of the kids there laugh cos they eat salad.
If mine step out of line I threaten to take them to McDonalds. It works, largely.

> I agree with you completely Cathryn...the 'programming' that is given to our kids now from schools has taken the individual creativity out of each child not to mention many parents allow the tv or the electronic things to raise thier children...and people wonder why we have such awful things the kids do in school from tramatic events, self induced inflictions, to complete dis-respect.
