It's the migratory birds we have to worry about. They bring in the fowl pox too. It's such a job and I prefer to use the chick vaccine for all and vaccinate twice. I'd make the top so the wild birds can't get into the pens to get the food and water. With the tyvek make sure it is slanted so the water runs off instead of pooling. I am going to take a few precautions because it always seem that Murphy's Law is always ruling around here. Maybe you could use the netting and put the food and water under a shelter area so you have sun on most of the dirt. Sun kills germs. You'll have an area where the birds can get out of the weather, right? Cathryn
That's scary news! I was planning on using netting to cover the new run I plan to build. Need to re-think that and use a solid substance. Hmmmm, I have lots of Tyvek left. Did the article give a time frame for arrival here in the states? I'll be using ACV.
