A few more weeks until spring.I have been collecting up to 3 eggs a day this week as my two older pekin hens are producing at last!Last week we had rain and cold weather everyday. It was miserable but this week end there has been clean air and sunshine. We opened all the windows and aired the house.I also opened the coops and aired them as well.I hoed up the pen and the girls are working the soil again.I am going to plant it up soon with native grasses and shrubs.
We had a funeral on the 9th August for a family friend and a baby boy was born the same day-A grand nephew-Adam.Life is like that. While someone leaves another enters.
The hens have eaten the seedlings I had put in for them-spinach,rocket,silver beet! shall try again soon.
With warmer weather around the corner the garden is looking good again.
Happy Hens, Jennie,Australia
