Understand that there are different ways used by others but this is what I have done with a good degree of success. Introduction while keeping the new ones separate is important. You can set up cages / use separate runs off a coop ...this allows the new birds and existing flock to view each other with no direct contact. Allow this to continue for at least 2 weeks . Then you can remove barriers or cages and allow them to intermingle .... THIS is best done at dusk or later as the old flock members seem more accepting at this time. I have even used this method with ducks and chickens.
