Hi Cathryn – her eyes look ok. She is on her feet. She was the one who was laying overtime 1 or 2 eggs/day, but nothing since yesterday's incident, of course. Her eyes look like normal now....I'm just worried because we work all day. If we don't tend them properly in the morning, they don't get tended at all. I'll make sure there aren't any feathers in her wound, but I'm more worried about keeping her in than letting her out at this point. She drank an awesome amount from my finger this afternoon, and ate some mash, but I didn't see her eat any feed (crumbles) tonight, although she may have. She has perked up considerably since last night....of course, it was all fresh and hateful for her last night. I'm thinking I may put her back out tomorrow just before I leave for work. I just wish like the dickens I could stay home and supervise tomorrow, but I just can't. The worst part of this whole mess is it was my own (best) dog who went after my own (best) hen. Oy..............

How do her eyes look? Is the wound dry with no feathers stuck in it? You are right to worry about her being in the warm while she recovers as it is getting cold out. Not much you can do until you are sure she is ok.
