I will tell you I tried to use a cup but it very easily tips over, the ceramic dish worked best because it was heavy and even though he learned how to escape, he couldn't knock it down or over and hurt himself.. He actually had to learn to use his legs to lift himself out of it. I think that's what helped him the most, instead of dragging the leg and not putting it to any use. Getting out of the Bouncy dish, LOL, I love that, he had to really put himself to work. The one good leg was not going to have enough strength to lift his entire body up and out..
