We do have less large predators on the East coast...but we still have hawks, bald eagles, snakes, raccoons, foxes and coyotes. and the occasional black bear, but honestly they are pretty timid around here.
I have lost more (baby) chickens to snakes than anything else...probably because we have dogs and they are oblivious to snakes unless they almost step on them. but sound off ferociously at bunny rabbits!!!

I am surprised how many predators we have in Alaska. I grew up in the Western US and seems like even more in AK. East coast not so much??? I only made is as far as Ohio.
I think of bears and cats though.
