<<<<<<< asked one a little while back about a perch, and never got a answer, I felt a little down about that. I don 't know if the hen house is big enough for a perch, but probably is, it's about 4 ft high inside, and 3 1/2 feet in wideth. How high from the floor should I place the perchs? I'm getting 6 chicks today, and I want to make sure they all have room and place to perch or roost.<<<<<<
I'm sorry. I never saw your post. Anyway I'm happy to help as well if I know the answer to a question or problem. You should put the roost 2 feet off the floor and at least 18 inches from the wall to give them room to get up and down plus room for their tails. I think that would only leave enough room for one roost. How old are your chicks? What breed(s) are they? Getting them is so exciting. I love this time of year. As a second thought, if your chicks are young you may want to install a small temporary lower perch/roost that you can raise little by little as they grow.
Best of luck and keep asking questions. It helps me remember things I've not thought of in a while.
