If the eggs or cooked and the shells crushed there is no way for the chickens to associate a cooked egg and crushed egg shells with a freshly laid egg.

I guess I was smart only getting 9 chickens, with up to 5 foster kids we eat about a dozen eggs a day.
But I have been told MANY times that giving the eggs or even the shells to the hens can cause them to become cannibals.
Is this not true?
