Looks like a blister beetle. I would buy Neem Oil, follow the directions for mixing a solution, and spray your tomatoes.

I have heard that chickens love Japaneese Beetles.
Are all beetles safe for chickens to eat?
Attached is a picture of a 'new to me' beetle that has invaded our tomato plants this year. Does anyone know what it is? Can I collect them and give them to my Ladies?
