Janet,
> It's something I have spent a lot of time working at, going to workshops
with some of the top animal trainers in the world and consulting with many
that do fly their birds free.
some years ago I attended a training workshop at the San Diego Zoo. During
the workshop they announced that they had trained a group of parrots to
free fly a round above the zoo and that they were going to do their first
public flight, with the public in the zoo, that day. So when that time
came, they took us to a place where they could be seen well, and what a
sight it was. What I thought was interesting, was I looked at the other zoo
visitors around me as those parrots flew by, and nobody seemed to notice. I
thought it was so sad that people are so unaware of their surroundings that
they missed a group of parrots flying close by. I don't remember what kind
they were, I am thinking macaws, but I don't remember for sure.
We did have flocks of green parrots living in the wild in Florida.
I am a fan of parrots, though I will probably never be able to make the
commitment to own one, if I did, I would be into exploring free flying
options
