Paula, I have what some people might consider city chickens too. There's a few hundred or so + in 14 varieties. They have their non GMO feed and grain, and are quite the pets.

kymberly, I am probly one of the few on this list who have chickens for pets most are serious livestock chicken raisers. Because my chickens are pets I buy the best organic food for them, and only use grain and corn for treats. I eat the eggs but when they stop laying I give them to my daughter who has a 2 acre retirement place for old horses goats ducks and chickens all the animals die a natural death. So don't judge all in this group to be like me. I cannot eat my chickens but I do not condemn those who do after all that is why we raise chickens. When things get hard and the economy crashes I will not be so squeamish I'm sure. That is why I don't raise rabbits I can't stand to kill them and my husband won't. And yet I know it would be a wise thing to do. I live in suburbia My daughter laughs and says I have "city" chickens. But don't be too harsh on the group most are very practical about thier livestock. Paula in Az
