Yes, my Splash started setting first. Two days later I found the Black on the eggs. Then they took turns. All of a sudden, they divided the eggs and were sitting on 3 each. They both are mothering the chicks.

The Silkies like company. You might find more than one sitting on the same batch of eggs. Sometimes they fight about it. One gets off and the other runs to take over, the eggs NEVER cool off!
Sometimes they steal eggs to sit on. Sometimes you find 4 or 5 of them all snuggled up together in a bunch. I've even seen the rooster sitting on eggs. They are really funny! And very good at what they do!
Smiling,

I was worried, but they seem to know what they were doing.
My Silkie hens went into trance mode, too. But they also got up every once in a while and did their thing. I did put a plate of feed and a waterer near them in the coop and they would reach over and eat some while I watched. One would peck lightly at my hand if I disturbed her, but the other just basically ignored me.
