[CHICKENS-101] Re: First chicken - Hanni-belle the canibal.

This has been my experience in the past however;I just put 6 Barred Rock pullets in with my Ameraucana hens. The rooster, bless his heart, calmed the new girls down and I was getting eggs in right away. The three old hens, on the other hand, have retreated to the far end of the roost and are sitting there waiting to be introduced, forget the eggs.

It's been my understanding that the act of being moved to someplace new as well as getting used to it's new surroundings - and in this case suddenly being the only sole one with no longer any kind of like company around like it'd been used to - is stressful to a chicken and they usually don't lay eggs for awhile until they acclimate?
