[CHICKENS-101] Re: HOw many chickens in a 10x10 coop??

Do your peas come in at night during warm weather? I have only one peacock that does but he doesn't do it every night. He was raised with chickens (and thinks he is one) and won't roost in the peahouse. Instead, he follows the chickens in at night.

Once he got older, he tried staying out at night with the other peas but evidently, they too thought he was a chicken and made fun of him. So, he'd slink home doing the walk of shame and retreat to the safety of his buddies in the chicken house.

Eventually, he `pea-ed up' and is now staying out most nights with the other peas. However, I still think he suffering from identity issues as he displays for the guineas, the pigeons, the ducks, the dogs...pretty much anyone except the pea hens. He's either confused or a sexual deviant ;)

In the winter, my peas are locked up until spring but in good weather, they prefer to stay out at night and roost in the trees. In late fall, I start luring them into the peahouse with mealworms so they get used to coming inside again. First snow dump, I lure them in and lock em' up. Were I am, they'd freeze to death roosting outside in winter.
