Hi Christa,

How much room is in a nest box? Have you put any artificial eggs into them to give the chickens the idea? I would move them out of the dog's reach or he/she may overeat eggs.
I remember seeing someone's photo where the chicken was nesting in a large ferret's corner litter pan. We had wind damage to a tent like shelter in our chicken yard and discovered 24 eggs had been laid in a fold of the tent on the ground!

Keep working with them, they should eventually catch on.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome...and thanks so much for all the helpful advise!! I think it maybe our boxes...they were up high but they never seemed to lay in them so we took them off the wall and laid them on the ground? Still nothing...and to make it worse our dog has now gotten a taste for eggs=( Any tips on making their boxes ones they will WANT to lay in?
