[CHICKENS-101] Re: Chicken feed ain't cheap

Thanks everyone for your input on chicken feed. I will have to make a trip to the Granby Country Grain Store this week and start reading labels. If there is a way to offer up as much table scraps and natural feeding, I will def. do this. I won't feed my dogs anything that comes from a bag unless its Orijen. I'm kind of a food snob I guess! Ah well, there are worse things.

After the initial, "You're going to raise what?" The most common second question is, "Cool, can I have some eggs?" I"m sure this sounds familiar!

We'll be building our coop this weekend. I found some great videos online and the boyfriend and I will be looking for building materials over the next few days. I would like to find used/re-purposed stuff if possible.

And then the real fun begins: choosing which breed to buy!

I should probably do some work and stop googling pictures of chickens. They always struck me as immediately funny and then brilliant birds. If I bring an incubator in here, I'll be up to my eyeballs in chickens. I just know it.

Thanks again,
Jenn
