Thank you very much! I looked at the pictures of the ruddy shellduck with the slight ring around its neck I believe it is a male ruddy shellduck. Being in Kansas puts him well out of his natural habitat but it says they can occasionally be found in North America. They are also offered for sale in pairs at MMCM but are currently out of stock FYI.

Don't take my word for it, but it reminds me of a female paradise duck which is the in shelduck family. I searched shelducks and the ruddy shelduck looks awfully similar. Hope this helps.
