Well after 2 years of no ordering chicks, I think I'm done.
Downsized last year. Did the swap thing, bought/was gifted locally. Hatched via bator/hens chicks, guineas, ducks.
This year I ordered a bantie mix, lost most of the order due to the hatchery making an error, they did correct. At the moment around 30 chicks in 2 rooms. Post to follow later Sat on how to keep chicks and most importantly Hubby happy. Have ordered Standard size special order to be here in April - fancy and NN, and had to break down and order from my feed guy so I will have some dependable layers by Fall. He talked me into a dozen. Well at least I have someone who wants to buy some already. I still have chickens to pick up from a couple of friends. So my cages will be overflowing.
Oh the joys of owning chickens, or should I say they own you. Trust me, after awhile they do.
Must give a shout out to Ideal Hatchery. They are the best!
