RE: [CHICKENS-101] roosting Rockettes

I love this idea for a roost.  I’m using 2 x2 across the frame but this design you show maximizes space and layers the roost they they don’t poo on each other.  Love it.

Here's a second photo from tonight--they all managed to squeeze up a bit to fit!

<<On your windows, I'd put strips of wood over the ends of the fencing with wood screws. I found out that opossums and coons can push staples out of wood to get in.>>

<g> Funny, I'd mentioned the strips of wood at the time--although more to cover any ends of the cut wire.  The staples are actually the fencing sort, for putting up barbed wire.  Any coon or possum that can push *those* staples out, I don't want to meet up with...

As for the clean--well, heck, it's new, right now!  Bit by bit I'm getting strips of hard-foam insulation (leftovers from our neighbor's house) cut to fit between the studs, but I have to locate linoleum or something to cover the lower half.  Destructive little monsters were acting out their veloceraptor heritage by systematically stripping the nice shiny silver coating off the foam--got cardboard over it for the moment.  The insulation coating should be pleasantly reflective of light once I get it onto the underside of the roof, great in the dark of winter.
