Thank you for the help - have the wire out, have chicken in the frig (still on the bone) will try it tonight and see it that does the trick. Still don't see how she can eat a whole dish of food and keep the trap open at the same time. The dish wasn't even pulled forward - just polished clean.
Was told to use dog food and it did attract her but would never work with wire - guess that's why I didn't think of it. I did think of wiring the dish down, but she didn't even move it last night, just ate it - the food that is.
Wish me luck - sitting out all night in the yard is getting old really fast. I'll keep the spot light up as I'm sure it helps after she has her dish of dog food. Just ordered two predator lights - maybe I can stay in at night after they arrive.

Sue, Wire your bait to the trip. Works really well. Don't laugh but KFC bones with the skin wired on work really well. I caught a huge boar opossum recently by wiring the bait to the trip. Between the woodchucks, cats, and large coons and opossums, it seems it's the only way I can catch anything.
