I can relate to this one. We had our chicks hatch 5 weeks ago. 3 of them hatched in with the mama hen. Being COMPLETELY new to chickens we made the mistake of helping on hatch in the house.(we had thought it wasn’t going to hatch, then heard peeping and thought there was a problem and hatched it to get it out.) We took it right out to the mama hen, but she wouldn’t accept it. So we put it in a box in the house with lamp, towel, food and water. Of course, it was so cute, we couldn’t help holding it and playing with it. Unfortunately we had other things to do as well. So it started making this ungodly smoke alarm going off type of noise. After the second night of this, I decided it was time to try putting her with the other chicks again. Fortunately for me it worked, and now she is the bully in the group. But, I was lucky and had a mama hen to put her with.

They are both still going at it off and on. I turned the air and fan back on to try and drown them out. Seriously, could we get a thread going about what we have done about chicks so spoiled they run our lives and/or chick stories about chicks we have now or had in the past.
