"Straight run" means the chicks are not separated by sex. As hatched there is a 50/50 chance they are cockerels or pullets, {male or female}.
Chicks are cute at first then they go into their first molt. That means the replace their down with feathers. In between they will look like something the cat dragged in. After they have fledged that will look better.
Questions cheerfully accepted. There are no dumb questions only dumb answers.
Are your cornish a cornish cross as in Rock/cornish? The reason I ask is that the cross are meat birds and require special treatment.

He said that they were a straight run what does that mean? i have so much to learn i guess it will come in time and hope no one is annoyed with the stupid questions that i should know the answers to. Also i have cornish chickens and for some reason they do not keep their feathers i have a red heat lamp in their pen because i heard that would help but they are still half naked and very ugly looking like that what can i do to stop this? thanks so much for any help that u can give me.
