[CHICKENS-101] Re: Are chickens a new trend?

As much as I like chickens, I don't like guineas.  I thought I would and I split and order with a friend.  I love their look, but I live where it is very quiet and I couldn't stand the noise they made.  It was like having someone in my front yard honking their horn!  I finally decided that I couldn't keep them.  So, I gave my half to my friend, so then she had two dozen.  One morning her husband had enough of their noise and shot everyone of them. I felt bad about that.

 

I know that people say that they don't scratch like chickens, but my guineas dug all the dirt out of the raised flower box in front of the chicken house.  My chickens have never done that.  I have to admit that I do prefer bantams as my chickens free range and standard size chickens can do a lot of damage in the garden.

 

I don't know if I just had a rowdy flock of guineas, but they just weren't the right birds for me.
