I'd probably be mean and put the minnow bucket in a bucket of water with the access entry under water first. Now way my hands would be by a venomous snake.

That looks very interesting, but how do safely get rid of a poisonous snake?
We have lot's of rattlers out here and I'd hate to have to open the cage
before being able to kill it. Copperheads as well. I can't imagine
shooting it in the cage as I would think you'd just end up with a minnow
trap full of bullet holes.
